Writing about the issues undocumented Latinos are facing has been an enlightening experience. I have been inspired by the wonderful and courageous men and women in the Hispanic community here in Richmond, who are raising their families and are devoted and honest members of the community. I have been equally troubled by the high number of people who are willing to go to great lenght in order to leave behind the poverty and squallor they were born with and from which they could not arise by any "legal" means. It is a difficult issue to which no simple solution exists.
